Diabetes and Hypertension Awareness Foundation (DHAF) is a charitable 501 C (3) organization developed with a mission for early diagnosis and treatment of diabetes and hypertension.
Diabetes and Hypertension are the most common diseases in the world and affect people of all socioeconomic statuses whereas negligibly are left alone. These two diseases are silent killers, however, can be easily diagnosed by early screening and keep control to prevent major comorbidities .
The mission of DHAF is started with early diagnosis of diabetes and hypertension and to control their progression by frequent checking and delivering of free medicine in the underserved community and helps patients for appropriate referral to higher level of care as needed.
Common risks for Diabetes and Hypertension are :
Stroke, heart attack, heart failure , kidney failure requiring lifelong dialysis, blindness, frequent infections, neuropathy , gastropathy leading to vomiting , weight loss, peripheral vascular disease leading to gangrene of limbs, erectile dysfunctions, decrease libido, generalized weakness , finally disabilities and early death.
What does DHAF do?
Being a physician, Dr. Jaman noticed that there is a huge negligence in all types of people paying no attention to these debilitating diseases. To prevent the progression of these disease , DHAF also provide medicines ,screening, health education, and medical supplies most importantly preventive care in the community.

Through the foundation, diagnosis and health education was started on a small scale. Due to the huge response and demands from the community, it became essential to expand the program to meet the needs in underserved community.
